Percy DeWolfe Dog Sled Races

The Yukon Quest Dog Sled Race is a 1000 mile dog sled race that runs between the United States and Canada. It covers many different terrains which includes frozen river, mountain ranges and boreal forests. Mushers and their teams are often at odds with the elements and must be able to care for themselves and their dogs in whatever situation can develop. Thank you Michelle for your wonderful picture of the final musher out of Eagle.

Wayne Hall pictured in the Percy DeWolfe Dog Sled Race. Wayne ran and completed the Yukon Quest 3 times in 2002, 2006 and 2009. He has the distinction of being the first competing musher, in the history of the race, to finish with all 14 dogs. Winning the Challenge of the North Award and the Sportsmanship Award.

Matt Hall has continued his dad’s legacy of racing and has won many races including the 2016 Copper Basin Sled Dog Race and the 2017 Yukon Quest Sled Dog Race. More importantly than that he has the been awarded many, many Veterinarian Care Awards. To us that is as important as winning the race. In his first Yukon Quest he finished 3rd and was awarded the Rookie of the Year, Challenge of the North and the Veterinary Care Awards. He completed his first Iditarod in 2018 finishing 11th. Follow him at his web site Smokin’ Ace Kennels…
